Our goal at Pleasant Ridge Pet Hospital is to keep your pets happy and healthy. We emphasize the importance of routine physical exams, parasite testing and prevention, dental care, and individualized vaccination plans to keep your pet in the best possible health. However, pets sometimes become ill despite our best efforts, and we will be here for you and your pet if that happens. Our veterinary and technical staff is compassionate and well trained to handle your pet’s care throughout his or her life.
Medical care:
We know that you expect the best possible medical care for your pet. To achieve that, we have on-site radiology, a well-stocked pharmacy, and all the equipment and expertise needed to handle most sick or injured pets. On occasion, we use the services of our excellent local specialists, who are able to provide specialized testing or critical care on a 24-hour basis. We are committed to communicating with our clients during a pet’s illness; so whenever you have a concern about your pet’s health, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our staff members.
Dental care:
We do a dental examination as part of every physical exam we perform. Dental health affects the whole body, so we recommend daily tooth brushing at home and thorough oral examination and preventive care under sedation whenever abnormalities are identified. We use a modern ultrasonic scaler, polisher, and drill, as well as digital dental radiography to help us make better treatment decisions. Your pets will thank you for keeping their teeth healthy.
Surgical care:
With over 17 years of combined experience, we are well prepared to handle most surgical procedures. We use modern, safe gas anesthetic, pain medications, routine fluid administration, and full monitoring to ensure a safe and painless procedure for your pet. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions about an upcoming surgery for your pet.
Exotics:
Our doctors have completed additional training in exotic and small mammal medicine, and enjoy working with these unique pets. We have experience with ferrets, rabbits, rodents, and reptiles. We are happy to perform wing and nail trims for birds, but we refer ill birds to avian specialists, who are more experienced in their care.
